Missing My Son’s Major Milestones

I smiled and feigned excitement when I heard Jonathan took a few steps. Secretly, I was crying inside. And when my nanny left, I cried uncontrollably. I hated not being present for my son’s major milestones. It wasn’t fair. I was his mother and I should’ve been there to see everything. Everything. Why did I have to go to work?

Got Breastmilk? On Demand and Plenty of It

When Jonathan, my son, was born they quickly brought him to my breast so I could breastfeed. Oh and how I loved that! They had a nurse to show me how to breastfeed him. The first few days I was trying to get used to holding him and was thinking too much about how often I needed to breastfeed him and for how long. Although I read that nursing was on demand, I was still conscious of it.

Reflecting on my love for Merlot and how much I savored its abundant flavors in my mouth, I realized I didn’t do the same for Adam’s love. As Grace, my Guardian Angel, said “Imagine allowing yourself to taste, see, touch and smell the love that is waiting for you.”
