No doubt this year will be different for many of us as we celebrate the holidays separate from our extended family and friends, choosing to comply with public health mandates due to the pandemic. One thing remains the same–online holiday shopping. I decided to share the top five favorite items I’ve purchased for myself in the past six months because the truth is retail shopping can be therapeutic with everything we’re experiencing right now.

Batting Eye Candy—I have a business colleague who wears fabulous lashes and her eyes look incredible on Zoom meetings. Her eyes seem to light up the screen. Another friend posted here selfie with magnetic lashes on Instagram, looking fabulous with these accessories.  She introduced me to Tori Belle Cosmetics and I’ve been in love ever since. My eyes will never look the same now that they are adorned by these magnetic lashes. They are the perfect eye candy when I look in the mirror. These beauties boost my confidence, make me feel prettier, and raise my Zoom profile. And let’s face it, in today’s world, I can sure use something positive to look forward to in my day. Applying these lashes and sipping on coffee or wine is just the day’s cure.

Lashes are the perfect holiday gift, and you can purchase a holiday bundle for yourself or a friend. We can look fabulous together on Zoom. Check them out on my web page.

Expressing a Gratitude Attitude—The impact of the pandemic has caused increased anxiety, financial stressors, and unexpected circumstances affecting our everyday life. We’re all experiencing the same pandemic in different ways. One thing I have found beneficial during this time is an attitude of gratitude. I signed up for a 22 Day Gratitude Journey and purchased a Gratitude Gram Starter Pack by Asal Dean of Gratitude Grams. She also hosted a Gratitude Social, expressing the benefits of gratitude and conducting a gratitude exercise for our client.

Put A Queork In It—When I visited New Orleans about four years ago, I stopped by a shop called Queork. They create artisan pieces with cork, creating a smart leather alternative and luxury upholstery option. What I love equally is that the company teamed up with the local Youth Empowerment Project and started an externship program with young adults interested in design and manufacturing. I have several items like handbags, a briefcase, and shoes. Most recently, I bought placemats, cork stoppers, and jewelry. As you can tell, retail therapy is in full swing this season.

Sipping into a New Year— There’s no shortage of wine in my home. I’ve enjoyed the occasional glass or bottle of wine since the Safer at Home order. Who else is with? Yes, I see you and I know I’m in good company with others. Lorimar Vineyards & Winery is a Tuscan-style winery in Temecula that my husband and I frequent. We’ve been members for almost nine years. In a picturesque setting, they combine art, music, food and wine to create memorable experiences for any occasion. I celebrated my 40th birthday, enjoyed several grape stomps during harvest time, and have made it a destination with friends and family.

Lorimar wine is the perfect hospitality gift for others and yourself. In particular, the 2019 White Merlot is perfect for any occasion or day of the year. Check them out and if you purchase a bottle, tag @missguidedmom because I want to see what you’re sippin’ on.

Wearing the Dream—I met Amanda Riley Ferree at a transformational leadership program and she had so much spunk and energy. She shared the website she was creating called LOAR, short for Life of Amanda Riley, representing a carefree, comfortable, and thoroughly enjoyable way of living. Who wants that? Count me in. She’s committed to living the life she has dreamed and wants the same for others. I’m right with her. She offers visitors of her website an opportunity to design a jacket to manifest their goals and wear their dreams, daily reminders of what they want to create for themselves.

About 18 months ago, I left a job of nearly 20 years to fulfill my lifelong dream of being my own boss at a public relations firm. I went from daydreaming to living the dream and supporting others to do the same. So naturally when Amanda reached out to me, I was first in line to create my dream jacket because, let’s face it, once you fulfill a dream, you’re hooked on making other dreams come true.

Amanda is graciously offering MissguidedMom followers a 20% discount off all jacket blanks. Use code: MARISOL20 and tag me at @missguidedmom on Instagram when you get it. I want to see you wearing your dream too.

I’m excited about these items that would be perfect holiday gifts for family and friends. Not only are they thoughtful, they provide an experience to boost your confidence, express mindfulness, help others thrive, bring connectedness, and keep the dreams alive.
