I realized I hadn’t been in touch with my inner self for about nine months. I haven’t been in contact with you, Grace, in that same amount of time. Do you realize it’s been like a pregnancy? I have been carrying something within me. Nine months of not just gaining weight, but giving birth to something. And it seems like I’ve been recovering for the past three months from the delivery.

What is that something? Is it the realization that I am renewing my spirit? Restoring my mind? Reenergizing myself to begin a healthy lifestyle? I know I have rested my mind, body and spirit. It feels like I have been sedentary. It’s time for a change and a start of a new, active life. Here we go, Grace…

Guiding Lesson:

Eve, how exciting!  And how great that you are aware of the stirring within your soul.  So what are you giving birth to?  Have you been able to be still and notice what part of you is ready to come out from the cocoon and take flight?  Now don’t rush it.  It will emerge in time.  You just need to continue to be patient, be open and remain in love.  It is love that ultimately wants to be expressed in the world.  It is love of God, self and others that is the world’s true calling.  The world doesn’t need more self-righteous people, it needs more lovers (true and healthy lovers) to help heal and soothe the hurt and pain that currently exist.

So let’s imagine, if we all prioritized God (or who we believe God to be for us) as our first love, what would be different in the world?  How would your world be different?  What would your day be like?  How would you start your day knowing you have another day with the lover of your soul?  What would you be grateful for?  Would you see and hear things differently?  Would you reprioritize what’s important to you?  Would you seek power, prestige or possessions to make you happy or would God be enough?  Would your schedule change and would God be part of every event?

Now let’s look at loving yourself.  Do you currently love yourself with the choices you make, from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed?  What would you need to change to really nurture and be kind to this wonderful gift of YOU?  Would you eat differently?  Would your thoughts change?  Would you listen and honor your feelings?  Would you keep the same people in your life?  What prevents you from truly loving yourself?  What habits would you give up so that there is room to cultivate the relationship with yourself?

So it leaves us with loving the other–the hardest thing to do.  This is when you know you truly have placed God first and then yourself.  For if you have, then you will be able to love those around you since there is a part of God and yourself in all the people you meet.  Giving birth to love is painful because it asks a lot of you more than of the other.  It is the fire that consumes your soul and the treasure that your heart seeks.  And when you are betrayed or hurt, you may allow love to disintegrate to ashes or if you have a microwave, some people may use it to destroy it.

However, love never dies.  It is a sacred fire that burns without being consumed.  In the face of adversity, betrayal, pain, suffering, only love makes sense and is the answer, as long as you start with God followed by self and others.  It is what leads to forgiveness, healing and humility.  It is the great work of the soul to reconnect with the universal love of humanity and life itself.

Eve, get ready to give birth to Love.  I will be there to support and be your mid-wife through this.  During this process, relax, let go and breathe in love so you can bring love into your life and those around you.  Happy Birthday!

Love, Grace
